Part 3 — Turn the Mirror Around: Who Are You Imprinting?

“You can’t run with skunks and smell like a rose.” Those were the wise and blunt words that I heard from a pastor during one of his messages. Words that have stuck with me for years because they are true. Who would you rather be imprinted by: a leader of character or a so-called leader who stinks like a skunk? Who are you choosing to follow? Now flip it: who is following you? Who is watching the way you respond under pressure, the language you use, the choices you make?

Ask yourself: What habits do I daily model? Am I consistent enough that people pick up my rhythm — for better or worse? If you find gaps between who you want to be and what others are learning from you, that is an area of growth to work on. Small, repeated actions compound into culture. John C. Maxwell says, “Consistency compounds.” That consistency can compound for either good or bad. Which do you prefer?

Take time to reflect. Name one behavior you will stop and one you will intentionally model this week. Lead with the character you want imprinted in others.
