This blog post, “Be the One That Takes the Journey,” is a continuation of a series I began in September based on comments made by Mark Cole, the CEO of the Maxwell Certified Leadership Team. Speaking at the International Maxwell Certification event held in Orlando, Florida, he said “Be the One.”
What does “be the one that takes the journey” mean to me?
- Be prepared to lead when the opportunity presents itself.
- Be prepared to accept the hard assignments when no one else is willing.
- Be prepared to deal with perfectly imperfect human beings, their quirks, and their faults.
- Be prepared to face difficulties and challenges.
- Be prepared to walk alongside people and help them grow and develop.
There are people who shun the path of leadership because they do not want the responsibility that comes along with it. However, for those who willingly choose to embark on this journey, the personal satisfaction of that comes with taking the trip far outweighs any hardships and trials. What about you?
